Great Scott! We Love the Air Quotes Tee From Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World (Updated)

I’m not sure that the Scott Pilgrim adaptation found as wide an audience as initially imagined (a real shame…), but it did reward cool spotters with a number of fun t-shirts that perfectly complimented the film’s bright, comic book flavored palette and youthful skein. The Plumtree ringer was probably the most prominent example of this treatment (helped no doubt by its inclusion in both previews and promotional artwork), but the design embedded below — the so-called Air Quotes tee — caught my eye almost as soon as it popped on screen: Free of any obnoxious signage that formally binds it to the movie, it’s one of those sly references that says everything without uttering a word. As with all of the very best seen-on-screen tees, it’ll be inevitably lost on the average viewer, but otherwise beloved by true nerds and fans of the franchise
