The Cost of Anti-Virus Programs and Their Impact on Individual Developers

Anti-Virus programs have instilled unneccessary fear into the lives of many in order for profit, but perhaps even more evil is their blatant disregard for enacting policies and procedures that would prevent their systems from identifying false positives and instead they opt to falsely identify a threat simply because a certain library or api is called when running the software which communicates in some fashion with the outside world.
